How to View 3D Walking Directions in Google Maps – Guide

The Google Maps app has a feature that is unique to it, which is 3D walking directions. This feature employs augmented reality to show you the real environment as seen through your camera. This means that you will need a phone that works with Apple or Google augmented reality systems.

To use Street View for location research, you need to have a location covered by Google Maps Street View. If you are not walking somewhere that is covered by Street View, you will not see the “Live View” option.

Now, type in a few basic facts about the location you want to walk to. For example, your address or the name of a city. After you’ve filled out all of the information, tap “Walk to”. You’ll now see a list of options for walking to the location you’ve chosen. You can choose one of several ways to walk to the location: -By car: Enter your address and start driving; after you’re there, open Google Maps and follow the directions. -By bus: Tap on one of the buses that come into your city or town and follow their route; after you’re there, open Google Maps and follow their directions. -By train: Enter your address and start walking; after you’re there, open Google Maps and follow their directions.

When walking in a location with good Street View, enable walking mode on the bottom toolbar to see all of the views.
