Enable two-factor authentication

2FA is a security feature that helps protect your device from unauthorized access. You must first enable the use of a 2FA app on the websites and services you want to protect. Many sites may have two-factor authentication for text messages turned on by default. In most cases, you’ll need to dig deep into the site’s security or privacy settings to enable the use of an authenticator app.

To add or change authentication for Dropbox, you would need to go to Settings > Security and turn on the option next to 2-step verification. From there, you would choose “Use a mobile app” as your preferred authentication method.
