Apple has packed iOS 15 with some interesting and notable improvements. But amidst all the features, Live Text caught my significant attention. After all, built-in OCR feature can help you recognize, copy and use text from images or live scenery. So what exactly is Live Text and how can you use it on your iPhone and iPad? Live Text is a new feature in iOS 15 that allows users to type text into the app and have it automatically recognized and copied to the clipboard. This is great for copying text from images or live scenery, as well as for using LiveText in other apps such as Safari or Google Earth. To use LiveText on your iPhone or iPad, first open the app and select one of the languages supported by the device: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese or Korean. Then type in a few words or phrases to get started. You can also use this feature to share text with others by copying it into a message and sending it off to friends or family.

How to use live text in Camera application

  1. Open the Camera application and click on the “Pamphlet” or “Poster” icon in the top left corner.
  2. Click on the “Copy” button to copy the text or image of the poster, pamphlet or handwritten note right now.
  3. Paste the copied text or image into a new document or blog post.

  3. The Live Text feature will now be available in both Cameras and Photos apps!
