How to Use Home Screen Widgets on your iPad – Guide
If you’re using iPadOS 14, you can take advantage of the Today View widgets that can be placed on the Home screen. We’ve already written an article about using widgets on iPhone and iPad, so take a look and familiarize yourself with widgets feature. When you’re in the main Home screen, swipe inwards from the left side of the screen and the Today window should appear with its widgets.
If you tap on the Edit button, you will have the option to pin widgets to the home screen. This is a good solution until you can upgrade to iPadOS 15, which has a different way of managing widgets. With that said, if you want to create themed pages instead of having all the widgets in one place, then this is the way to go.
How to add widgets to your iPad home screen
Swipe until you are on the home screen.
If you have an iPhone 4 or later, you can use the “Tap and hold any blank dot on the home screen until the application icons and folders start to flicker” feature to quickly access applications and folders on your device.
To add a new pop widget, tap the plus sign in the upper left corner of the screen, above the Today screen. You should see the list of pop widgets up to the right of Today View. To remove a pop widget, tap and hold on it until it pops out of view and then release it. ..
To pin a widget to the top of Today View, drag it from the pop-up widgetup to the gray square at the top of the Today screen. To add more, tap the plus sign again to reopen the pop-up widgets.up and repeat.
To add a widget to the bottom of Today View, tap the desired widget and drag it to the desired location. ..
When you’re finished adding widgets, tap “Done” in the top right corner of the screen. ..
