How to Run Same App in Split Screen in Android – Guide

Split screen mode is a great feature on Android devices that lets you run two apps on one screen. This makes it easier to complete simple tasks, like reading a book or checking your email. Google is slowly rolling out this feature to all Android devices worldwide, so be sure to check for the update if you haven’t already.

The split screen mode on Android Oreo is a great feature, but it’s not perfect. Not all apps are supported, and users can only run one copy of an app at a time. If you want to use split screen mode on Android Oreo, follow these steps: First, make sure the app you want to use is supported. Second, open the app in split screen mode. Third, press and hold the leftmost button on your phone’s keyboard (the one with the “123” logo). Fourth, drag the app to the rightmost screen. Fifth, release the leftmost button on your phone’s keyboard. Sixth, press and hold the rightmost button on your phone’s keyboard (the one with the “456” logo). Seventh, drag the app to the leftmost screen. Eighth, release both buttons on your phone’s keyboard. Ninth, your app will now be running in fullscreen mode on both screens! ..

Run the same app in split screen windows on Android

Parallel Windows for Nougat and Oreo lets you run multiple apps side by side on your Android device. This makes it easier to work on multiple tasks at the same time, and can speed up your workflow.

After installing the app, open it. You will now receive a disclaimer about the app being in a trial phase. Tap the checkbox next to “I have read and understood” and tap “Continue”. Next up, you will get a warning that while Android Oreo supports Picture-in-picture (PiP) mode, the service only supports multiple windows. Check the checkbox at the bottom and tap “Continue”.

The main application window should now open up. You need to grant the app permissions to override other apps as well as enable the accessibility service. To do this, tap the button next to each permission and grant the permission on the next screen.

You can now customize the various aspects of the sidebar on your app’s main screen. This sidebar will later be used to open multiple instances of the same app while in split screen mode. You can adjust the height, width and position of the sidebar according to your preferences.

The sidebar on the right edge of the screen can be accessed by opening the app drawer, triggering split screen mode or mirroring apps to run a single app side by side in split screen mode.

After setting up the sidebar, just open an app or tap Recents/Multitasking button. Then just swipe from the right edge to bring up the sidebar (as shown in the step above) and select the third option. Now, you will be prompted to “Select an app to mirror”. Just select the application and two windows of the same application should open up in split screen mode.
