How to Fix ‘Update Apple ID Settings’ Issue on iPhone and iPad – Guide

Apple has released a new update to iOS 15 that resolves the issue of the login loop that keeps asking you to update your Apple ID. If you’re having this problem, please check for the new update and let us know if there are any other issues that we can help with.

If you are stuck in a login loop on your device, follow these steps to reset it:

  1. Reset your Apple device. This can help clear your device’s cache, clear temporary files, restart background services, fetch new tokens and tickets from Apple servers, restore connections, and much more.
  2. Use the guide below to reset your Apple device depending on the model and type.

Restart or Force Restart

Many users have reported that the notification for their Apple ID password remains even after entering the correct password. However, once they restart their iPhone, the notification disappears. I advise these users to do the same before proceeding to the following solutions. ..

If a restart does not resolve the issue, follow solution number two, three and four below. Then force restart your iPhone before following the rest of the solutions.

Make sure your Apple ID is correct

Open iPhone Settings and tap your name at the top. If you don’t see your name and Apple ID, make sure this is the correct one.

If you have recently updated or changed the device password of your other Apple devices, you may also see a similar notification on them. Enter the correct Apple ID and password on the other iPhone, iPad or Mac. ..

Check Apple Server Status

If you have an Apple ID and password, you may be able to still receive notifications even if the Apple server is down for maintenance. However, this may not always be successful, so it’s important to try and authenticate the notification even if the server is down. ..

In this situation, go to Apple’s System Status page and look for a green dot next to App Store, Apple ID, iCloud Account and Login, etc. If they are under maintenance, wait for Apple to fix it.

Sign out of iCloud and sign in again

Apple has released a new update for its iPhone app that may fix some issues with your account. If you have not received the update yet, please check to see if you can find it in the App Store and install it if needed.

Open iPhone Settings and select “General” on the left. Scroll down to the “Privacy” section and tap “Security.” Select “Authentication” and enter your Apple ID. Scroll down to the “Sign In” section and enter your password. Tap “Finish.”

To exit the app, scroll to the bottom and tap Exit. ..

To turn off Find My iPhone, enter your Apple ID password and tap Turn Off.

If you already use iCloud for this, they will sync again when you sign in.

Exit and confirm your choice.

If you have an iPhone, restart it now. This is very important. ..

Sign in to your iPhone by opening the iPhone Settings app and tapping Sign in.

If you have forgotten your Apple ID, password, or iPhone passcode, enter them here and we will help you re-login. ..

Update your iPhone to the latest iOS version

This red notification after updating your iPhone is a warning that you may not be up to date on the latest iOS version. If you have been ignoring this message for a while and a new iOS version has been released, it may be time to upgrade.

iOS 11.4.1 is now available for download, and it includes a fix for an issue that was causing some users to experience problems with their devices.

In General, tap Security. In Security, tap Passcode. In Passcode, enter your security code.

If you have not received the update file, please download and install it now.
