monsters at work
Pixar’s new TV series, Monsters at Work, is a workplace sitcom that follows the events of the original Monsters, Inc. After laughter replaces scares as Monstropolis’ number one power source, Mike and Sulley must adapt to their new environment. The show is set after the events of the movie and features Billy Crystal and John Goodman reprising their roles.
the bad lot
In the final season of The Clone Wars, the team of clones known as The Bad Batch is featured. After Order 66 turns the Clones against the Jedi, not all of them are affected. Some are left behind and must forge an under-the-radar existence in a galaxy rapidly falling under the Empire’s control – all while protecting Omega, a young clone in escape. Despite its potentially dark subject matter, The Bad Batch is tonally similar to its predecessor in being appropriate for younger viewers – and it’s equally beautifully animated.
The Clone Wars
The Clone Wars was a great show that showed how much friendship could mean in the galaxy far, far away. If Anakin and Obi-Wan had been friends, they would have had many adventures together. The show ended with a movie that didn’t show enough of their friendship.
The show begins as a series of vignettes about various Jedi during the titular conflict between Episodes II and III, but grows into an intriguing character study with strong continuity from one episode to the next. Anakin, in particular, gets the character growth he so badly needed in the films, while mentoring fan-favorite Padawan Ahsoka Tano.
the Mandalorian
Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian is shaping up to be a premier launch show. With a dark story set after Return of the Jedi, a mysterious leading bounty hunter in Pedro Pascal’s The Mandalorian and Jon Favreau at the helm, what’s not to like? The Mandalorian’s eight-episode debut season promises to explore a dark corner of the Star Wars universe we’ve never seen in live action before, and features an all-star cast that includes Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Taika Waititi (who will also direct an episode). ..
WandaVision
Marvel’s first TV show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also the best – so far. WandaVision is an offbeat show featuring Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), each reprising their roles from the Avengers movies. While the show is presented as a sitcom – or rather a sitcom series, with each episode riffing on comedies from different decades – secrets about the true nature of the heroes’ new life. home lurks below the surface. It’s an unusual start for the MCU on the small screen, but a worthy and interesting effort to explore grief in an inventive way.
X-Men
The X-Men were a groundbreaking series that had a lot going for it. The cast was great, the music was catchy, and the story was interesting.
The X-Men are a team of mutants who have to fight against some of the most powerful mutants in the world. They have to ask tough questions about prejudice, civil rights, and even religion. This is a great show for kids who want to learn about these important topics.
The right thing
Disney has been trying out new shows lately that are not just based on Marvel or Star Wars. This adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s non-fiction book is about NASA’s Mercury Seven team trying to go into outer space in the 1960s. The show is fun enough, and we’re encouraged to see Disney experimenting with shows that aren’t just made for pre-teens or Marvel/Star Wars fans.
Star Wars Rebels
After watching The Clone Wars, you should definitely watch Star Wars Rebels. It is a continuation of the Clone Wars story set between Episodes III and IV, and follows the adventures of young Force prodigy Eza Bridger, Jedi Kanan Jarrus, Captain Hera Syndulla and the rest of the Ghost crew as they escape the fledgling Galactic Empire. They also witness the formation of the Rebel Alliance. ..
The dysfunctional family dynamic between Rebels’ lovable characters is what gives the show its heart, but it also details Star Wars’ pre-A New Hope lore in some significant ways, with memorable appearances from characters like Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano.
gargoyles
The series was dark and complicated from the get-go, with a complex story arc built around increasingly complicated relationships. The series was also pretty cool on the surface, but it quickly became clear that the premise was nothing more than a facade. The gargoyles were actually just props, used to create an interesting story line without really living up to it.
Disney never made it easy for me to watch Gargoyles, but I’m really looking forward to finally getting a chance to do so. The voice actors working on this animated series include Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes (both known for their time on Star Trek: The Next Generation), and other Star Trek favorites (Michael Dorn, Kate Mulgrew, Nichelle Nichols, and Colm Meaney). ) also showed up in smaller papers.
marvel runaways
The Runaways ended their third and final last year’s season on Hulu. Created by the creators of The OC, it’s a really sharp teen Marvel drama with an ambiguous place in the MCU canon, but that doesn’t really matter. The characterization of this show is fantastic, and it’s based on one of Marvel’s best books of the 21st century, about the children of a secret society of supervillains who decide to run away when they discover their parents’ hidden lives. ..
